Premarital Counseling Course
Congratulations! You're getting married! While planning a wedding can be filled with
excitement...and stress, nothing should be more important than mentally preparing for
one of the most important and influential life changes an individual and couple may go
through.
While marriage is an institution based on education, understanding and a lifelong
commitment to individual work, it is imperative to enter upon a foundation of
professional knowledge and preparation. This premarital course will introduce couples to
invaluable skills, considerations and conversations created with the goal of cultivating a
mindful marriage rooted in health and success that can last a lifetime.
Who is this course for?
This course is for ALL couples planning to get married within the next 1-2 years and will be led by Amethyst owner and lead psychotherapist Maya M. Pittman, LCMHCS.
What is the structure of the course?
Couples will complete six sessions aimed at educating and exploring critical areas of
sustaining a healthy and successful marriage. The course must be completed within an 8-week period, and includes one free follow-up after a year of marriage.
Where do sessions take place?
All sessions will take place virtually through the Amethyst Counseling HIPPA secure and compliant online Simple Practice platform. While this is a counseling course and not considered clinical couples counseling, any couple residing in the United States or internationally can register for this course.
How can we get started?
If you would like to move forward with taking the Mindful Marriage course, you or your partner must complete the screening form below and undergo a free phone consultation to assess your appropriateness for services. Once participation is established and payment is complete, you will be able to schedule your six session dates with our client services manager.
How much does it cost?
Enrollment in Mindful Marriages requires an upfront course fee of $500. This includes a pre-course assessment,
$80 per 60-minute session + 1 free follow up.
